Hate To Love Me

Earlier Tonight…

I had an interview with Joseph South of the Joseph Went South Podcast. It went extremely well and we went over a variety of topics such as:

- Approach anxiety
- The new F.S.E. feedback system we use at Drills
- Same night lays
- The slut mentality
- Mindsets
- My motivations to teach
- Why drills work better

And more. I’ll post the links as soon as the interview is up and running.

My Rifle

This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.

Without me, my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will…

My rifle and myself know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit…

My rifle is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strengths, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage as I will ever guard my legs, my arms, my eyes and my heart against damage. I will keep my rifle clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will…

Before God, I swear this creed. My rifle and myself are the defenders of my country. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life…

So be it, until victory is America’s and there is no enemy, but peace!

You are your own rifle. Master yourself.

Jan. 18th-20th NYC Bootcamp Review #3: Steve aka. Chaos

Original post.

It’s been one week since I attended the Drills 2.0 bootcamp in New York City. I waited a full week to write this review because I wanted to try and be as unbiased as possible and to try and get some perspective on how it has affected me. Overall, it was an awesome experience and lived up to my high expectation. It took me from literally zero game (not being able to open sets) to being able to consistently open sets without approach anxiety, having good conversations and starting to escalate. I feel very confident that I now have all the tools to get amazing results with women. The drills format of the bootcamp ingrained the habits, almost like reflexes, but like anything you have to practice to get good. I’ve gone out the past three nights to practice and my game and it’s still getting better each night. I’m sure the bootcamp saved me years of trial, error and frustration.

There were two major factors that helped me choose the DiCarlo bootcamp over all others. The fact that it’s natural game and the fact that most of the class time is spent actually DOING the drills, not just passively listening to lectures. This is very different from other bootcamps that I considered. Getting immediate feedback from the instructors during the drills in class and in the field (both day and night game) was immensely valuable for quickly fixing my problems and my rapid progress.

The ratio of students to instructors is excellent and I felt I good a lot of personal attention. There were 4 instructors and 10 students in the bootcamp. The instructors are very accessible and were constantly giving feedback. I can’t say enough about how good the instructors are and how they genuinely care about each student’s success. They all had slightly different styles with women which I also found interesting. I learned a lot just by observing them, their attitude, and how they interact with women. It really opened my eyes and it sort of rubs off on you in some ways.

The three days were very intense, especially the first day. The drills really challenged me and the other students and pushed us outside of our comfort zones. One student confided that he was literally on the verge of tears after the first day and wanted to quit. So be prepared. The fact that you are pushed so hard during the three days is a testament to the fact that this is the type of bootcamp that can literally change your life. This is exactly what I was looking for. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.

Nothing is perfect, and one disappointment for me was the drills book that each student receives. It was re-written for the Drills 2.0 bootcamp and I found it significantly lacking in details and almost useless. I tried to take as many notes as possible during the classes but I missed some material, so I’m left feeling that I don’t have a good reference that I can use for practice or refer to in the future. I emailed Vin about this issue and I’d like to see it addressed.

All of the students made progress during the bootcamp but there were two major successes. On the first night one guy met a woman in the club and took her back to his place for sex, which he’d never been able to do in the past. Another student that had been dealing with significant approach anxiety got a number close in a bookstore after the same woman had shot down an instructor from a competitor that happened to be doing one-on-one coaching in the bookstore at the same time.

If you are considering taking a bootcamp, I highly recommend the DiCarlo DiClassified Drills. It is excellent value for your money and will have a significant impact on your life and game, no matter what stage you are at. That said, like anything in life you get out what you put into it. So be prepared for an intense experience and be willing to work hard after to master your new skills.

Jan. 18th-20th NYC Bootcamp Personal Review

It’s been a couple days since I’ve been back in Ottawa and I’ve had a lot of time to think about the bootcamp and catch up on sleep.

I arrived in NYC on Thursday and spend the night hanging out with Jordan from Pickup Podcast. I’ve had mixed impressions of him in the past but after spending a night and then a weekend with him I must say my first impression was most certainly skewed and completely inaccurate. Meeting him at the LA Summit just wasn’t the right place to meet him. He’s a super cool guy and his coaching staff seems top notch, not to mention the fact that he’s got one hell of an apartment in the best apartment building in all of Manhattan.

Let me start on the bootcamp by saying it was one for the ages. Things went super smooth for the most part and everyone had a super positive experience.

The new Drills program aka. Drills 2.0 is head and shoulders above the old program, not because the old one was bad… but because this new program is just THAT good. The Drills make a lot more sense and are a lot more powerful. The students have an easier time understanding the concept and seeing value in the material and it focuses more on essential and foundational building blocks that no one else covers.

Friday we started with foundational Dominance and opening drills. Things went smooth and we hit the club at night. I don’t think we could have brought the students to a more difficult venue to pick up in. The place was super packed, loud, crazy and overall just intimidating for them. It was a good measuring stick for the rest of the bootcamp. Some students thrived and some had a hard time.

About halfway through the night a student approaches me and asks me to “kick my ass” for the rest of the night. I appretiate initiative and oblige his request while bringing along other students to push as well. Shortly this student finds himself dancing with a cute asian girl. After about a half hour I realize he’s kind of hit a plateau so I get up behind him and shout in his ear “It’s time to kiss her! Fucking make out!” Said student listens and goes for the kiss and he begins to heavily make out with the girl. I smile and leave him alone for another 45 minutes. After that I get up behind him again and say “It’s time to start going for logistics and think about pulling her… make it happen.” He nods and tells me that he’ll start working it. Within 15 minutes he’s gone with his girl. The next afternoon he saddles up next to us at the lunch table and says to me “the Escalation Ramp works like a charm”.

This bootcamp me and Heartwork opted to do something a little different then usual. We offered, to anyone who wanted, a day game timeslot. So for the beginning of Saturday we did some day game work and got some more experience under our student’s belts. Good times. Saturday drills go over conversationalism and physical escalation. Things get a little tense but overall guys are really getting why the physical escalation is essential. My good friend Rewok also joins us for the day. It’s always a pleasure to have him around and I miss the son of a bitch.

Saturday night was awesome for everyone involved. It’s nice to see when the students get more comfortable in an environment and are able to function more effectively. Everything goes more smoothly.

Sunday we offered day game again. We ran into an instructor from another company (who will remain anonymous) at Barnes and Noble who was running a personal coaching session. After he staled out of set with this super cute girl in the bookstore Emilio aka Pickup Professor went in and got the digits inside 10 minutes. This coming from the guy who before couldn’t even wrap his head around cold approaching a girl off the street. Apparently on the last day of bootcamps our students are better than other companies instructors… sweet.

We wrapped up Drills with leadership and logistical drills in addition to the compliance work. At the end of the day we had a contest for a bottle of Money Shot Pills.

All in all everyone had a great experience this weekend and I hope that every single one of them stick with it. Trust me guys, waking up next to someone you love is so worth the effort of getting good at pickup. It may seem tough but keep your eye on the prize and enjoy the journey. Stay in touch guys… we’re friends now.

I wanted to put my initial impressions post bootcamp of my weekend learning the Dicarlo Declassified Drills. I intend to continue adding thoughts to this as the impact of this weekend becomes even clearer.

You know what I liked about this bootcamp? It single handedly rendered all potential future bootcamps with competitors, pointless. Yes, in my opinion, it is that good. Now it is not perfect, but lets start with the positive. No actually lets answer, as best I can without overstepping what I can reveal, what you will be learning. See, when I signed up, I had a question that I think anyone would have: What exactly are we drilling. There is another review that describes it in the context of the Karate Kid and Mr. Miyagi and his wax on, wax off method of teaching Daniel karate. That makes sense. But I want to make it a little clearer. See, Vin doesn’t have a method in the sens

Part 2

WHY DID I PARTICPATE IN NYC 2008 DICLASSIFIED DRILLS BOOTCAMP?

Why did I participate in the NYC 2008 DiClassified Drills Bootcamp? I never thought I would spend money on a Bootcamp to learn how to improve my ability to meet women. I am a man in my late 30s. My ambition is to eventually meet the woman of my dreams, settle down and have a family of my own. Meeting women within my social networks has been very easy for me, but also very limiting. I have also been successful in meeting many women via online dating, but this strategy also has many limitations. The only way for me to truly succeed in meeting the women I want to meet is to go *outside* my social, professional, and online social networks. Unfortunately, attracting and courting the quality of woman I desire that is outside my familiar social networks has been nearly impossible for me in the past. I decided to proactively look for solutions on how to address this challenge.

I began reading some dating and pick-up artist literature. However, I knew I could not learn what I needed to learn from books and articles. I needed real-world experience. Subsequently, I found about a dozen Bootcamps that offer training on meeting women. Vin Dicarlo’s Bootcamp was very different from all others for two important reasons: (1) meeting women naturally using my own personality and style, and (2) drills.

Vin has an incredible pick-up school. Yes, I dare say, a school for learning the “pick-up arts.” The school is focused on teaching you applied, real-world skills done in three steps: (1) introduce the concept, (2) apply the concept via drills in a controlled, non-threatening environment, and (3) continue to practice drills in the real world during the day and evening. Throughout the drills, the instructors encourage you to develop your own actions, reactions, questions, responses, and physical gestures that naturally occur during social situations. That is, instead of memorizing and rehearsing a specific routine to meet a woman, the meeting is simply an extension of your own personality and completely natural. Age, height, weight, and looks truly do not matter with Vin’s natural, personality-based approach to pick-up.

After graduating from Bootcamp, I am realizing that I have just experienced a key turning point in my life. During the Bootcamp I began meeting women on my own and am looking forward to new encounters already. I have also learned that the meeting and courting “rules” that I have learned throughout my life, for the most part, do not apply. Bootcamp has “reconditioned” me subconsciously. That is, I am already executing what I learned in the drills on my own without realizing it! All I have to do know is practice. I am truly looking forward to seeing how my personal life evolves and where I will be a year from now.

Many thanks to Vin, Brian, Orleans, Heartwork, and all of the support staff. You have all made a significant, positive contribution to my life!

COMMENTS ON INSTRUCTORS

Vin
Describing Vin in one word: Master

I met Vin during the 2008 NYC Bootcamp. Vin’s voice and demeanor is extraordinarily relaxing and disarming. He engenders trust with his words. After meeting and speaking with him for only a few minutes, I felt like he and I have known each other for many years. Although Vin and I worked together for only 3 days, I really feel that he and his company of trainers and support staff have helped me create a new turning point in my life that will lead to greater happiness. In some ways, Vin treats his Bootcamp graduates as family. We were all shaking hands and giving each other hugs goodbye much like close family members saying goodbye after spending time together over a holiday weekend.

Vin doesn’t simply wants us to learn drills. He truly desires to see every one of his graduates succeed. The participation on the forum on VinDicarlo.com is strong evidence of the bond between students and Vin, as well as the instructors.

Vin’s strategies for pickup are truly extraordinary. He has successfully broken-down dating interaction into steps that can be practiced in a series of drills. What Vin is offering men who participate in his Bootcamp is, quite simply, the most efficient, effective, and powerful tools to for meeting and picking-up women. All you have to do is keep an open mind, participate in the drills, learn, and practice, practice, practice after graduating from Bootcamp. Practicing, in this case, becomes increasingly rewarding every time!

Thanks Vin!

Brian
Describing Brian in one word: Presence

During the NYC 2008 Bootcamp, Brian placed me into situations that were, at first, extraordinarily uncomfortable for me. Meeting one woman was hard enough, but how do you approach and engage a group of people? With the proper presence and strategy, it’s not only possible, but also relatively simple after some practice. The problem with me, as well as most of the students, was the psychological barriers that have formed in our minds that hinder our ability to interact naturally. The interaction drills, led by Brian, forced me to get out of my comfort zone.

Most people find expanding their comfort zone extremely unpleasant, embarrassing and awkward. That’s the point of the drills: change your perception of an uncomfortable situation to a more comfortable situation. Brian excels at this; he is an excellent instructor. He is also an excellent coach. I am a trained coach in a different industry, but many coaching fundamentals such as mirroring, reflecting, and powerful questioning are inherent in anyone who demonstrates superior coaching skills. That is, he identified my discomfort, provided reassurance, questioned why I was uncomfortable, provided constructive feedback, asked me to identify and question my own experience, and empowered me by asking me to go through the drills again, again, and again. After 3 days of intense drills, I have to admit that my comfort zone has expanded to the point where I am now facing similar situations in real settings within a week of finishing the Bootcamp. Given how shy I was in meeting women outside my social networks in the past, my new behavior and attitude is simply amazing!

What I learned from Brian is the importance of conveying a commanding presence. His presence is very strong, yet neutral, humble, and relaxed. Brian’s presence is a natural extension of his personality with no barriers or masks in the way. Emulating Brian’s “presence” ability has now become a personal goal of mine. That is, I wish to project my own style of presence in the same way that Brian projects his.

Brian participated in all of the drills during Bootcamp. His insightful feedback and clever, yet natural/personality-based strategies are simple and authentic. I do not believe I could ever learn what Brian taught me in any book in the pick-up artist or seduction literature. Perhaps Brian will write a book based on the feedback he has provided to many of his students over the years in both Bootcamp and private lessons? If he does, I want a signed copy!

Thanks Brian!

Orleans
Describing Orleans in one phrase: Relaxed Confidence

I had an opportunity to work with Orleans on “Day Game.” I never knew how shy I am with women outside my social circles until I tried to meet women on the streets of NYC. Orleans saw my sticking point immediately: extraordinary levels of approach anxiety. At that moment, Orleans generously took me under his wing. We began to walk the streets of NYC together and offered one-on-one coaching.

While trying to approach women, I became so nervous that I froze. My arms and legs were so tense that someone could have very easily knocked me over! Orleans was extraordinarily patient and encouraged me to take small, baby steps when approaching a woman. I tried 3 approaches that day. I thought I performed terribly. Orleans continued to encourage me, congratulated me for every word I was able to say to a woman no matter how insignificant it may have seemed, and complimented me on my progress. “Progress?” I remembered saying to myself, “I am not making any progress at all! I am performing terribly!” But Orleans knew something was happening already…I just did not see this for myself until a day later.

The next day, everyone in the Bootcamp came together to practice “Day Game” once more. This time, we visited a bookstore. When I entered the store, something very unexpected happened. The moment we walked into the store, I saw a women found attractive and immediately approached her. I failed to start a conversation, but I was (surprisingly) not discouraged. I saw another women and approached her. I failed again. But my failures did not stop me. I spotted another woman. She was absolutely beautiful! Over a 20 -minute period I observed three men trying to engage in a conversation with her, but did not seem to succeed in maintaining conversation or getting her phone number. Then, almost like a page from Romeo and Juliet, we looked at each other from a distance and our eyes locked onto each other. I remembered saying to myself, “I want to know more about this beautiful woman. What is she like? What is she about? I must meet her…NOW!” I walked up to her, started a conversation, asked her out and got her number. In hindsight, I realized that I executed the first 3 Bootcamp drills in my subconscious mind as I approached her. (What are those drills? You will have to attend a Bootcamp to find out!)

In two days, I went from not being able to approach a woman to succeeding in getting a phone number. I made significant strides in overcoming approach anxiety in just 2 days! I successfully integrated drills covered during the Bootcamp, as well as Orleans’ coaching. Building on my recent success, I feel I am ready to meet more women on my own. I also know that I can count on Orleans for ongoing support when I need his help. He will be there for me.

Thanks Orleans!

Heartwork
Describing Heartwork in one phrase: Pickup Prodigy

Heartwork’s energy is AMAZING. If I were to place Heartwork on a treadmill that generates electricity, he has enough energy to power the lights at Giants Stadium! But more importantly, Heartwork can control and focus his energy towards activities that he enjoys. Picking-up women is one of his passions, but also teaching how others can do what he does is another of his passions.

At the young age of 18, Heartwork is truly a prodigy among pickup artists. Despite his youth, Heartwork can pick-up women twice his age just as easily as women his own age. I remember asking myself, “How is that possible?” Heartwork is a living, breathing example that age does not matter in pickup, dating, and strongly suggests that age is irrelevant in long-term relationships as well.

During Bootcamp, Heartwork demonstrated his skills on command. Put Heartwork in a room with women, and he will get phone numbers and dates within a matter of minutes. What I am saying is not merely a compliment or an exaggeration. I personally witnessed Heartwork’s incredible pick-up skill on the first day of Bootcamp. Heartwork has so much to contribute to the pick-up community at such a young age.

Some men may question whether someone so young is qualified to coach men twice his age. If you are one of those individuals, I’d strongly recommend opening your mind. Pickup artists like Heartwork are extremely talented and the reason people pay top dollar for his coaching services. I personally worked with Heartwork during drills during the Bootcamp. As a man in my late 30s, I can tell you that I gladly listened to, and deeply appreciated, Heartwork’s advice, suggestions, constructive criticisms and feedback, and insightful guidance when walking with him on the streets of NYC. Yes, Heartwork is less than half of my age and I would hire Heartwork for coaching in a heartbeat. I know I plan on contacting Heartwork in the future for more of his advice as I continue to develop my skills.

Thanks Heartwork!

Emilio, Ph.D., University Professor

I’ll write my notes about the bootcamp tomorrow.

Hey Strangers!

It’s been far too long since I’ve updated this and if there’s anyone who knows it it’s me. The reasons? Well I’ve been spending a lot of time with my girlfriend lately so my drive to go out and make stories has been less than top priority. Also I’m going to NYC in 2 days for the first Drills bootcamp of 2008! Pretty exciting stuff. I won’t really divulge details yet but this trip is going to be innnnnnnnnnsane. I’ll tell you guys all about it when I get back!

In other news the response to my investment post has been overwhelming. Apparently you guys love money as much as I do. As such it’s been difficult to follow up with a lot of you. BUT if you’re really dying to help a brother out I motion to you guys to reach out to me and share your knowledge… whatever it may be.

The only thing I’ve read so far was about Purchase Option/Lease Option Real Estate Investment. If anyone has any knowledge about this it’d be great. I read the entire manual on the system and it seems tight but almost too good to be implementable in anything other than a down market. What are your experiences with it? Let me know what you guys think.

Rich Dad Poor Orleans

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a fantastic time celebrating the last year and ringing in the new one.

This year I’ve decided to focus on ONE New Year Resolution. Last year I aimed to make $40,000. I missed that mark by atleast $30,000. So this year I’ve decided I want to make $50,000. In an effort to do so I read “Rich Dad Poor Dad” (I actually JUST finished it) and I’ve become extremely interested in Investment and Real Estate. It’s about the money but more importantly it seems like something exciting and tangible which will maintain my interest. And on top of it all it seems extremely compatible with my lifestyle with DiCarlo DiClassified.

So I know what I want. Now I need to figure out how to get there.

I’m employing you, my blog readers, to help me out. If you know anything about Real Estate or Investing please leave me comments, even if it’s just a lead on a great book. Also if you know anything about Advertisement Copywriting and the economics of it please let me know. Alternatively if you don’t want to post a comment you can fire me an email using my Contact page.

Thanks guys and here’s to the best year yet!
