Hate To Love Me

Rich Dad Poor Orleans

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a fantastic time celebrating the last year and ringing in the new one.

This year I’ve decided to focus on ONE New Year Resolution. Last year I aimed to make $40,000. I missed that mark by atleast $30,000. So this year I’ve decided I want to make $50,000. In an effort to do so I read “Rich Dad Poor Dad” (I actually JUST finished it) and I’ve become extremely interested in Investment and Real Estate. It’s about the money but more importantly it seems like something exciting and tangible which will maintain my interest. And on top of it all it seems extremely compatible with my lifestyle with DiCarlo DiClassified.

So I know what I want. Now I need to figure out how to get there.

I’m employing you, my blog readers, to help me out. If you know anything about Real Estate or Investing please leave me comments, even if it’s just a lead on a great book. Also if you know anything about Advertisement Copywriting and the economics of it please let me know. Alternatively if you don’t want to post a comment you can fire me an email using my Contact page.

Thanks guys and here’s to the best year yet!

Merry Christmas!

Whether you’re spending your time celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah or Annual Gift Giving Day I’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas on behalf of the DiCarlo DiClassified team!

My First Review!

Taken from the Vin DiCarlo Forums.

I attended the NYC workshop a couple of months back and I wanted to put up a little feedback on my experience there. I’m not going to speak to what is being taught at the workshop, because I think that’s been well addressed already.

I’m not sure what I was expecting from a 3 day workshop aimed at helping men to seduce women, but I wasn’t prepared for the warm atmosphere I encountered. This certainly wasn’t Magnolia’s “Seduce and Destroy”. In fact, the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly, and after 3 days I felt like I’d bonded with both the guys and the instructors.

I was very impressed with the instructors, Vin and Orleans. Vin is clearly a big draw, and I’m glad I got time to talk with him, but I must say that I feel very fortunate to have had Orleans co-leading the workshop. He has a rare ability to make people laugh and feel comfortable, and he spreads a very positive energy. I consider this to be a rare and important trait, and one that I think is probably particularly useful when helping people improve their social skills.

Vin and Orleans articulated what I considered a complex and carefully thought-out system. Importantly, it was clear that a larger unifying theory or philosophy informed each smaller step that the instructors lead people through. The drills would build on skills learned in earlier drills, both in each section, as well as across each day – often we would revisit an earlier lesson which was made more complex by the addition of one of the other themes. With continued practice, it is likely that people will start to internalize the major themes of Vin’s perspective, and will start to act them out naturally and creatively.

Clearly, the move Vin and company have made towards doing drills is an intelligent one. People retain very little of the factual knowledge they learn each day, and a long seminar, although useful, can only do so much. The last thing you want someone doing during social interactions is spending time running through factual knowledge trying to figure out how to behave. Vin’s drill system focuses on getting the information ingrained in the procedural memory so that it happens without thinking and attention can be focused in the moment on the interaction partner – like a musician who knows the notes so well that he can focus on connecting with the audience. This makes a lot of sense – one of the requirements to “get in the zone” is acting without consciously telling yourself what to do.

I think it probably isn’t appreciated how difficult it is to make real changes in something as complex, subtle, and context-dependent as social skills or social intelligence. That said, Vin has done quite a job on taking on that challenge and trying to make a deeper impact in the relatively short span of 3 days. The work was tough – this is 3 days of intensive, challenging material. I found myself pretty wiped each evening just from concentrating for so long. Seriously, they are working you hard while you’re there.

A 3-day workshop is clearly not going to change someone’s internal workings, even a workshop as intensive and gracefully structured as this. However, it will point someone in the right direction, and Vin delivers the drills in a format that allows for repeated practice till the behaviors and thinking patterns become habitual. All in all, a very interesting and enjoyable experience, and I wish the best for everyone involved.

Mr. Grivver

Awesome.

I Hate The Hills

This show’s a piece of shit. The characters are so one dimensional and yet girls can’t stop fucking watching it. I want to feed my girlfriend uppercuts everytime she puts this pre-teen trash on.

This is what I think of The Hills:

Happy Birthday To Me!

This is me wishing myself a great 21st birthday.

It’s been a fantastic weekend and although it looks like hells has frozen over outside today (we just got 30 cm’s of snow) it isn’t dampening my spirits at all!

Here’s to being legal in the states… expect to see me on a lot more bootcamp dates south of the border!

Bikram Yoga

I will personally kick anyones ass who says anything to the effect of “Yoga is for pussies.”

Now that’s not to say Bikram Yoga is super intense… but it’s far from easy.

Today I took a Bikram Yoga class. It’s 26 yoga poses conducted over an hour and a half. The key to Bikram though is that it’s done in a hot room. We’re talking 32 degree’s celcius.

I’m a warm room kind of guy. I like being warm and absolutely hate being cold. Thus I thought that I’d be fairly comfortable in this room. Was I ever wrong. The class had already started when I opened the door. I was greeted by the hottest room short of a sauna that I’ve ever been in.

5 minutes in I begin sweating.
10 minutes in sweat is dripping down my forehead.
20 minutes in I remove my wifebeater due to it being soaked in sweat.
By the time the class had ended I looked like I had just gotten out of the shower.

Stepping outside of the classroom was honestly one of the most relieving sensations I’ve ever experienced. And yet it left me feeling very limber and refreshed. I don’t know about the benefits or anything like that but I’d definitely recommend Bikram Yoga for stress relief and to just try something new if nothing else.

After a short break and lunch we then went and did a leg workout for an hour and a half and afterwards my legs were absolutely jell-o. I was in an amazing mood though and I could feel the testosterone rippling through my veins. I’m going to sleep like a baby tonight all thanks to this workout.

I think I’m going to get more into it. Cheers to fitness.

Things I Like These Days

Entourage. This show is absolutely awesome. For those who don’t know it’s a story about an up and coming A-List movie star named Vincent Chase. What a lot of people don’t know is that it’s loosely based off Mark Walhberg’s career. It’s hard to really put my finger on what I really like about this show but if you ever put time into watching it you’ll find that it’s a really engaging plot and that the characters are people you really care about. Between trying to pickup girls and close deals they’re living the dream. It’s what every guy wants. And then of course there’s Ari Gold.

Californication. Another awesome show I’ve been tuning in to watch. Here’s the wiki for those who don’t know about it. Hank, played by David Duchovny, is a dynamic character and isn’t necessarily a good example or someone to look up to but you still care about him. There’s been points where I’ve been standing up cheering at the TV in victory. Pickup artists also pay attention to his mannerisms, behavior and energy because Hank is most definitely an alpha male. You see boobs less than 10 minutes into the first episode and all his novels are names of Slayer albums. Nuff said.

NOFX. Punk legends. I saw them in Montreal on June 5th ‘05 and I was absolutely blown away. Lately I’ve been getting back into their albums and they may be sloppy shit punk but it’s fun and dynamic music to listen to. “Lori Meyers”, “She’s Nubs” and others just rock my socks. Get into them.

The Foo Fighters. I’m going to see them in March. I think I’ve said enough.

My girlfriend’s rabbit. Magnus is the cutest bunny ever. Absolutely adorable. His only fault is he poops everywhere.

The Escalation Ladder. This thing is absolutely brilliant. It’s the single most powerful tool in my pickup arsenal. I love love love it. If you don’t have it go to the VinDiCarlo website and sign up for our newsletter. You’ll get it in the very first one.

Cloverfield. This movie looks like it’s going to be a fucking gold. Check it out.

Fluffy snow. I can’t wait for more of it to hit the ground so I can get back on the slopes. I want to get good at snowboarding this year so everyone cross their fingers for snow for Orleans.

That’s all I can really think of. I’m still working on the videos. Stay tuned.

Video Editting

Video editting is quite the task. This speech of mine is the first video editting I’ve ever done and it’s been one hell of a learning experience.

Between cutting the boring stuff, adding music, muting things I shouldn’t have said and trying to bring the whole piece together is a huge task.

On top of that what I’ve noticed is that I’ll finish something… and then I’ll get a new and better idea. So I’ll implement that new idea into the next part and then have to re-cut all the parts preceding that. All in all I’ve decided after being almost done this first cut that I’m going to re-cut the whole thing and do it properly with appropriate breaks in between the videos. This means it’s going to take atleast another couple of days. I’m working on it hard and long though guys trust me. And believe me… it’s worth the wait.

The Big News

So I promised you guys big news tonight… so without further adieu… I prsent to you… big news…

I have received my footage from the U21 Pickup Artist Convention which was held earlier this year in Orlando. This is a full hour of footage including the DiCarlo Escalation Ladder, a video lay report and Q+A featuring my good friend Vincent Chase.

I’ve been up all night editting so just a few more finishing touches and I should most likely have the footage up in a couple days.

Stay tuned kids.
