Promotion Is Hard Work

Wanting to dabble in a side-career of club promotion I threw my first party at a club on Saturday. Friday before going to sleep I was expecting between 40-50 people showing up which was my target. By Saturday night that number had turned into 25. By the end of the night the count was around 15. It’s unreal how flakey people are. BUT on the good side I made $50 and got a free 15 drink bar tab which made for a good night with the 15 that did show up.

It was definitely a learning experience and I’m meeting with the club’s manager this week to discuss the party, how it could have been better and how we could develop a new system to get more people coming. Club promotion is just a natural extension of the whole pickup artist lifestyle and it’s definitely something I’m interested in getting good at. More money never hurts.

I’m going to have BIG news for you guys tomorrow. Be excited.

I was checking back here to read about how it went. I’ve actually always wanted to get into new business promotion since becoming interested in graphic and web design. Things can rarely turn out perfectly at the beginning, I’m glad you had fun and surely your promotion work will keep improving.

Yeah Orleans, I can see how promoting would be hard work. I’ll tell you I use to promote, but I wont say what. A lot of that energy goes into, promoting, when they get there making sure they’re having a good time, everyone is well taken cared of. You know dude, now that I think of it, some of that is already taken care of, if they’re interested in the place already… and them getting there is about logistics and how cool you are.

I know I had a fun night, but lets be honest, the tickets were a hard sell being that they saved you only a whole 1$ at the door. The system we were talking about where we give people tickets and it counts for a discount at the door, then the money just goes to you would be a lot better. The club itself has potential, i didn’t mind it at all.
